The son of Janell and Rusty Aaronson is Brenden Aaronson. He was born on October 22, 2000, in the town of Medford, New Jersey, and raised there along with his younger siblings Jaden and Paxton. As a youngster, Brenden participated in a number of sports, but he eventually discovered his passion for soccer. While attending Shawnee High School, he played the sport. Brenden was picked for the Philadelphia Union’s YSC Academy because of his exceptional skill after just one year of school.
Aaronson was able to complete his high school coursework while playing his preferred sport at Union. He earned a contract with Bethlehem Steel FC as an amateur after playing for Union’s youth levels. Before returning to the Philadelphia Union, where he made his name, Aaronson only spent a year at Steef FC. His achievements led to him receiving several honors and the attention of a few European clubs.
Brenden played for Bethlehem Steel FC during the 2017 campaign as an academy player. From Philadelphia Union Academy, he received his diploma. In a road draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies in October 2017, Aaronson made his Steel FC debut. He played in 21 games for Steel FC, and against Atlanta United 2 he netted his first career goal. Aaronson will begin the 2019 season with the Philadelphia Union, it was revealed on September 17, 2018.

On October 16, 2020, after numerous rumors, it was revealed that Brenden will join Red Bull Salzburg once the MLS season finished in January 2021. Philadelphia acknowledged that it would be the highest transfer fee paid for an American native MLS player even if the transfer price was not made public.
According to early reports, the upfront cost would be US$6 million, with another US$3 million in incentives. Aaronson made his Salzburg debut on January 25 in a 2-0 win over Rheindorf Altach as a substitute. On February 10, 2021, Brenden scored his first goal for Salzburg, scoring the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Austria Wien.
