Donna Lynn Dixon was born in Alexandria, Virginia, USA on 20 July 1957. Her father was Earl Dixon, who owned several nightclubs, particularly Hillbilli Heaven in Lorton, Virginia. Her family went to Lorton at a young age because of her father’s work, and she went to the local Groveton High School.

She studied anthropology at George Washington University, Washington D.C., but she quickly dropped out to focus on her career as a model.
