John Kevin Stitt (born December 28, 1972) is a well-known and distinguished American businessman and politician who has served as Oklahoma’s 28th Governor since January 2019. Aside from that, he developed and served as chairman and CEO of Gateway Mortgage Group. He was elected governor as a Republican in 2018, defeating Democratic contender and former Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson. Stitt grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. His wife Sarah and he have six children. Stitt, a Cherokee Nation member, is Oklahoma’s second Native American governor following Johnston Murray.
