Bethany Joy Lenz And Paul Johansson
Question: Are you actually quite close in real life?
Lenz: Paul is one of my best friends,” she said. “We talk almost every day and our kids play together.”
it was friendships like the one I share with Paul that is the most meaningful thing I took away nine years on the show. “It’s hard to condense all the great memories into one thing that is the most meaningful,” she said.
“But I think it is the relationships I walked away with… like being able to come back here and pick up right where we left off with people I haven’t seen in three to four years.”
Johansson: “Nine years of my life was playing a guy who was honestly just seeking redemption and to love his family even though he didn’t know how to do it,” he said. “I got a lot of lessons out of that character. Like how not to be a dad.”
Question: Did you ever think you would be sitting in front of a crowd of nearly 1,000 fans 12 years after the show started?
Lenz: I never imagined this,”. “We were filming the first season and we thought we were getting canceled like every day… So this is unbelievable. And you have no idea how grateful I am and we are for you.”
Question: what trinkets did you take from the set (Lenz took the “Julius Caesar” book Haley gave to Lucas) to their favorite scenes involving Naley?
Lenz: “I was just singing to myself and I think Mark drove by and heard me singing,” she recalled. “At one point soon thereafter, he just asked, ‘Do you want to sing on the show? We can make that happen.’ And I thought, ‘Sure, let’s try it.’
