He was the first point guard to be drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the NBA drafts of 2006 and he is the all-star point guard who led the Boston Celtics to the NBA 2008 championship. In 2011, he launched the Rajon Rondo Foundation to provide children living in low-income areas with safe, reliable resources and hope for the future. He also runs a summer camp for youth basketball players.

In his senior year, he broke Jeff McInnis’s single-season school record of 303 assists and had a 55-point game in high school, second highest all-time in Oak Hill only surpassed by Calvin Duncan with 61. He was named to the McDonald’s All-American Team in 2004 and scored a total of 14 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds in the all-star game. In 2004, he participated in the Jordan Capital Classic game; logging 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. He was named a second-team Parade All-American.
