Saina Nehwal is an Indian badminton player who has won over 20 world titles. She is also the first Indian woman to be named world number one by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Saina Nehwal married Parupalli Kashyap, a longtime girlfriend and fellow badminton player, on December 14, 2018. In January 2022, Saina and Tamil actor Siddharth engaged in a Twitter feud over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security failure in Punjab. Siddharth generated uproar after responding to Saina Nehwal’s tweet concerning the Prime Minister’s security violation.

Career And Professional Life

She  earned her schooling at the Career Line Campus School, CCS HAU, Hisar; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Hyderabad; National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) School, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad; and St. Ann’s College for Women.
Saina Nehwal began playing badminton at the age of eight, under the tutelage of Indian badminton instructor S. M. Arif. She was tutored by Pullela Gopichand, Nani Prasad Rao, and Vimal Kumar, among others.

In 2005, she made her international debut at the Asian Badminton Satellite competition.
Since then, she has won numerous national and international badminton tournaments. In 2016 and 2017, she suffered some injuries, but she recovered quickly and went on to win additional titles.
Throughout her badminton career, Saina earned medals at the Asian Games, Asian Championships, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, and Olympic tournaments.
Saina Nehwal first entered politics on January 29, 2020, when she joined the BJP during the Delhi Assembly election campaign.
